Either record or have someone observe your performance, presentation, or meeting, and note one or two things you could do behaviorally (the D of DOT) to improve your demonstration of confidence, strength, or self-assuredness. Design a few behaviors to improve your composure. Here are some things you could work on improving:
•Your posture: How much do you slouch or stand with your chest held high?
•The position of your gaze: Are you keeping your eyes at the level of your audience?
•Eye contact: How much are you making? Experiment with the balance.
•Smiling: Practice smiling while listening and speaking.
•Uncrossing your arms/legs: Work on having an “open” posture.
